Shoe Box Appeal

There are many people in our Circuit and in our area who are anticipating the start of the Shoe Box Appeal. I am delighted to say that the gentleman who loaned us his warehouse in Consett last year has agreed to do the same this year so that we can have the necessary space to check and carton up the boxes.
Last year, we processed 10,800 shoe boxes but, this year, we have been asked to cover a much larger area. This may well result in us having up to 20,000 shoe boxes to process.
If you would like to help, please contact me on 01207 500779 or email me at
We start processing on Monday 4 November and finish on Friday 6 December.  Thank you, David Arbon

Shoebox time is almost upon us.  But there is still time for you to fill and donate your own box/boxes. Imagine the joy on the face of the child who will open it as you wrap and fill it, as well as knowing you are making a difference in that child’s life. Same things as usual, except no toothpaste or sweets (sadly due to border controls on drug trafficking

Also and equally important - An appeal for more volunteers to help with the processing and packing of the boxes. This starts on Thursday 31st October with setting up the warehouse, and ends Friday 6th December when the lorry will be finally loaded, and the warehouse dismantled.

The plea is for more people to offer time on any of these dates, for as little or as long each day. So come on Circuit, get behind the wonderful commitment of David and Jan Arbon and the teams of folk who have for many years helped make this wonderful work of outreach happen.
I promise you will be more blessed than you will ever imagine.
