North West Durham Methodist Circuit

Deepening Discipleship, Making More Disciples

PRAYERTIME -
Circuit Weekly Prayer Rota

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

A wise man once said, “you can never have too much prayer,” and so, based on an idea and lots of interest from some of you, we’ve decided as a Circuit to set up a Weekly Prayer Rota, which you’ve hopefully heard mentioned already in the past week or so.

The idea is simple: every day, from Monday through Saturday from 9am to 9pm we aim to have someone from the Circuit pledged to pray for a set period of time, on behalf of all of us. As each individual or group takes their turn they’ll carry the beacon of prayer ahead, ensuring that we have the light of prayer shining somewhere in our Circuit throughout the week.  So, you might have an idea of who’s praying for you and the wider world on any particularly day, you’ll find a schedule of which churches are taking what days listed below.

If you’re interested in having your own time scheduled and haven’t already signed up, just contact your minister or the person designated to organize the schedule for your church. For everyone participating, and for anyone who would rather pop in as they feel led, we’ll aim to send out some ideas of what you might pray for in the near future, but any prayers are, of course, welcome.

I hope you’ll find the time to join in this prayer initiative, either formally or informally.  We have no set dates this will run, so going on the idea that no amount of prayer is too much, we’ll invite you to continue praying each week, for at least as long as the lockdown continues. Regardless of how you might be led to participate, we hope you take comfort in knowing that you are each being held in prayer every day of the week.

Take care and God bless, Kayla, Ann, Stuart
