Where is God in our pain?

Stuart has sent me some reflections for today, Saturday and Sunday from the Bible Society.

Just click on the link below to see the first of three Easter weekend films, considering how the Bible can bring comfort, wisdom and hope.

A Spiritual Communion

Methodist people often gather together to share Holy Communion today (Maundy Thursday) and on Easter Day. This will not be possible this year, so the Church has produced an  " Act of Spiritual Communion" and an " Act of Spiritual Communion for Easter Day" for those who would like to reflect further on not being able to receive Holy Communion in the usual way.

Sing Resurrection: Easter Day

Churches Together in Britain & Ireland are urging people across the country to Sing Resurrection at 10am on Easter Day.  We are encouraged to step outside and sing ‘Jesus Christ is risen today’ and ‘Thine be the Glory’.

You can find information on their website  and an information sheet here

They have termed it ‘a counter-infection of joy and hope for Easter Day’.

                            Taketime Together Meditation Group

Here we are at the beginning of Holy Week, which is proving to be a very different Holy Week from the one we all had planned. Although we are physically separated from one another in our Church Family and unable to meet in worship and preparation for the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are supporting each other practically and spiritually in a variety of ways while always taking care to keep one another safe.

Our regular Taketime Together Meditation Group should have been meeting last Thursday to complete the Lent meditation course but instead joined together online to listen to week 5, Gethsemane. This was different but still wonderful to be taking part together. This Thursday 9th April at 10.30 we will “meet” again for the last session, Crucifixion which is based on Matthew chapter 15 v22-32.

How wonderful that this last session is shared on Maundy Thursday.

I invite you all to join the meditation, taking time in the current difficulties to encourage a personal encounter with Jesus. This is a “God” given opportunity to take our worries and concerns to Jesus and spend quiet time listening to his response.

Click here or search on Google for Taketime Together Meditation then choose the website Taketime.org.uk, click on Themed Meditations, choose 'Being Mocked' then click on '50 Crucifixion'.

I am using the 15 min meditation so just click on the play button and off we go TOGETHER. I hope you will Taketime to join us Together in our Meditation

God Bless,  Kim
