Ebchester Ecumenical Church News
…..had a fun night out on 1st April, at the Empire Theatre in Consett.
The theatre was staging Spotlight North East’s production of the musical ‘Godspell’, which is based on Matthew’s gospel, and is fun for all the family.
The show is very lively and colourful, and presents the actual words of the gospel in the midst of lots of action, singing and dancing. Jesus was portrayed with a Mohican hairstyle, while Judas Iscariot wore flamboyant rainbow-coloured clothes. A good time was had by all. The best comment of the evening came from an 11 year old boy in our party, who described the experience as "weird but good"!
The trip was made possible with the help of a grant through our local councillors, Alan Shield and Watts Stelling, which allowed us to subsidise the cost of 30 tickets and transport. We very much appreciate this support
Now we’re all looking forward to our annual Easter Egg Hunt, which is a free event taking place at 10.30am on Easter Monday, 25 April at St Mary’s Convent, Ebchester Hill. Everyone is welcome!
EECC is a joint venture between the Anglican and Methodist churches in Ebchester. We meet at Ebchester Methodist chapel at 9.30am on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month – why not come along? For further information contact Catherine
